Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8 x 8 baking pan with parchment paper.
To a bowl, add all of the crust ingredients. Mix well to incorporate completely.
Pour the crust dough into the bottom of the pan, using your fingers to press into an even layer. Bake for 15 minutes. When finished, set aside.
While crust is baking, pour coconut milk and maple syrup into a small sauce pan.
Bring to a low simmer and cook down for about 45 minutes, until thickened.
Top crust with chocolate chips, pecans and coconut flakes. When the sauce has cooled slightly, pour over the toppings and crust.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
Cool on the countertop before placing in the fridge for at least 2 hours to allow the bars to set up.
Slice into 16 squares, and enjoy!
