
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread hazelnuts on a baking sheet, and bake for about 5 minutes, until slightly golden and fragrant.
Add hazelnuts to a food processor, and blend for 3-5 minutes, until a smooth butter has formed.
In a separate bowl, add water and cacao powder. Whisk together to dissolve.
Add cacao mixture, maple syrup and salt to the food processor. Blend until completely combined and smooth. Add additional water if you prefer a runnier texture.
Transfer to an air-tight container, and store in the pantry or fridge.
