While there are few foods I don’t like in all honesty, several top my list of all time favorites. And one of those without question is hummus, chickpeas’ claim to fame. Yet I’ve also discovered that chickpeas are remarkably versatile in both savory and sweet dishes thanks to their texture and mild flavor.
Likewise, chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans) are incredibly nutrient-dense, a great source of plant-based protein and budget-friendly. You might have a can, or several, already sitting on your pantry shelf just waiting to be transformed into a delicious, nutritious meal or sweet treat.
